A company works with the Kentucky Career Center - Bluegrass/American Job Center, our staff will locate an applicant who meets the employer’s criteria and is ready to work.  Our staff will then determine if the applicant is eligible for an OJT.  If so, staff works with the company to develop a training plan. Once the training is complete the Kentucky Career Center - Bluegrass/American Job Center can reimburse a portion of the new employee’s salary to cover the company’s training costs.

Through the Kentucky Career Center - Bluegrass/American Job Center, a business can post job vacancies.  These postings are made available to career seekers at all Career Centers and online. Each vacancy posted with us is reviewed to ensure it meets strict EEO standards. Applicants can be checked for basic qualifications before being referred to the business.  If that business prefers, staff will take the applicant through a predetermined screening process.

The first few weeks of employment are a tenuous time for many new hires.  Often, being unemployed has altered normal life for many job seekers, draining financial resources.  Rather than losing a new employee due to circumstances created by their unemployment, we offer solutions. We and our community partners can assist with transportation, childcare, housing, and emergency health services for employees hired through the career centers.

Employers can utilize several other specialized benefits that could reduce costs associated with hiring new employees.  There are a wide variety of programs designed to assist local businesses in hiring new employees and expanding operations. Our staff inform employers of the benefits their business can obtain as well as assist them with navigating the requirements.

The Kentucky Career Center - Bluegrass/American Job Center also provides Tailored Recruitment, a service that will save valuable staff time by doing the searches for a suitable candidate. Staff can perform assessments on potential applicants, host job fairs and specialized recruiting, assist with writing job descriptions, and offer virtual interviewing capability. Staff offer office space for on-site interviewing and training.
