Job Summary:A designer uses computer software to create detailed and precise construction plans. Collaborate with the team to allocate resources, create a timeline, and draft 2D and 3D construction plans using design software. Additional responsibilities include researching and choosing the best material properties for modeling, stress-testing models to evaluate the structure’s resiliency, communicating progress on the project with project managers and clients, and revising designs as necessary based on client feedback. Permitting experience - Permit drawing relating to utility permits containing: Right of Way (ROW), Aerial/Pole, Underground/Bore, and (EOP) Edge of Pavement. Supervisory Responsibilities:•None Duties/Responsibilities:•Create accurate OSP network maps•Prepares drawings and designs according to client engineering specifications using applicable software•Provide support to other internal teams as needed such as permit packages and traffic control plans•Make design decisions regarding construction and safety methods in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations as well as client supplied information•Preparing detailed Construction Drawings to clients adhering to industry standards•Communicating with internal staff and clients over phone and email•Production/Time management of multiple workflows•Perform quality checks on plan design drawingsRequired Skills/Abilities: •Familiarity with telecom projects detailing outdoor equipment, indoor building layouts and fiber diagrams•Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player•Excellent verbal & written communications skills, relationship building, self-starter, excellent time management and organizational skills•Above average attention to detail•Ability to work as part of a team or independently•Ability to read information and instructions and interpret and analyze contents from materials such as technical reports•Ability to solve problems that are frequent and unique. •Ability to complete tasks with latitude to decide what work will be required well in advance of actual activitiesEducation and Experience:••High School diploma or GED required•Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word•Telecommunications Permit Drawing experience desired•AUTO-CAD, ArcGIS, or 3GIS experience strongly preferred•Experience submitting permits directly to permitting authority, highly preferredPhysical Requirements: •Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer•Must be able to independently lift up to 15 poundsCompensation and Benefits:•Salary is commensurate with experience and will range from $21/hr - $31/hr•Medical, Vision, Dental, and Life insurance•Company paid long-term disability insurance•Voluntary short-term disability insurance•Paid Time OffPCCI Group is an equal opportunity employer.
