    Position Summary

    The Post-Harvest Technician is responsible for all aspects of post-harvest handling and finished goods preparation, including drying, curing, trimming, weighing, packaging, and labeling cannabis products in compliance with Dark Horse Cannabis Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Kentucky state regulations.

    This position ensures the efficient, safe, and consistent processing of cannabis flower from harvest to packaged product, maintaining product integrity, traceability, and compliance at every stage.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities Post-Harvest Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the drying and curing of cannabis flower under controlled environmental conditions.

    • Operate and maintain trimming and sorting machinery; perform quality hand-trimming as needed.

    • Buck and sort cannabis material to prepare for processing or packaging.

    • Inspect the flower for quality standards, including structure, water activity, and contamination.

    • Weigh and record flower accurately using calibrated scales for inventory and METRC tracking.

    • Maintain compliance logs and batch records according to facility and regulatory requirements.

    • Clean and sanitize all workstations, tools, and equipment according to GMP standards.

    • Support transfers of material between processing areas and storage locations.

    Packaging Responsibilities:

    • Accurately weigh, package, and label finished cannabis products according to batch and strain specifications.

    • Apply compliant labels to packaging manually, ensuring accuracy in strain name, batch number, test results, and required warnings.

    • Perform quality assurance checks to confirm proper weights, label placement, and seal integrity.

    • Prepare finished goods for storage or shipment, including case packing and tote organization.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant packaging area at all times.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass all state-mandated background checks.

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or production experience preferred.

    • Prior experience in cannabis cultivation, post-harvest, food manufacturing, or packaging operations preferred.

    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.

    • Basic math and measurement skills required.

    • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.

    • Must follow all safety, sanitation, and contamination prevention protocols.
