    Job Description:

    Leads and coordinates:

    Programs and planning for construction projects to include funding, and communication with Lincoln County Fiscal Court, Bluegrass Area Development District, KY Infrastructure Authority, KY Division Of Water, AGE (Austin Gooch Engineering), Greensource, the City of Hustonville and others to ensure project completion

    Be responsive to all communication from partner agencies and customers

    Provide support to the Board by providing current information on billing and other non-operational concerns

    Cooperate with our partners in the City of Hustonville and the Danville Wastewater Treatment Plant

    Will spend a significant amount of time with our System Operator and/or Board Chair to learn our current system assets and how they operate

    Will provide invoices, credit card receipts and other financial information to our accountant LeeAnn Smith.

    Maintain filing systems and ensure the proper retention, protection and disposal of records

    Manage data entry and other record keeping tasks

    Provide regular office operations reports to the Board and identify areas for improvement

    Assist with budget preparation and track expenditures

    Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable

    Support the System Operator when needed

    Will report to the Board Chair

     

    Qualifications and Skills

    The Office Manager is the key leader at Nicholasville, overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounting teams at the Smurfit Westrock manufacturing plant in Nicholasville. Reporting to the General Manager, the Office Manager must be self-driven, task-specific detail-oriented orientated and customer-facing, with both internal and external customers. 

     

    What are the top 3 accountabilities of the role? Completing the month-end process to close the books for the plant, completing accounting/finance specific requirements such as inventory reconciliation, etc., and completing financial reports needed to support plant leadership in making material decisions.

                

    How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

    • Be a strategic partner with the facility’s leadership

    • Assist and review corrugated supply management.

    • Audit quarterly fixed assets and maintenance ofthe  Fixed Asset Register.

    • Assist department managers with data input and monthly reports. 

    • Process improvement, monthly KPI reporting and consolidation tool implementation such as HFM as well as various other monthly and quarterly tasks

    What you need to succeed:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field or the equivalent education and industry experience

    • Minimum of 2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

    • Sound knowledge and understanding of general ledger structures, equity accounting, foreign currency accounting, cash flow reporting, and consolidations

    • Packaging Industry experience is a plus

    • Proficiency in computer applications, MS Office, Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)

    • HFM, JD Edwards and AS400 systems 

    • Detail oriented, strong technical and analytical skills
